Chromium-6 Workshop 12/06/2014

In April, the state of California adopted a new drinking water standard for chromium-6, a mineral found naturally in our desert. The new standard (set at 10 parts per billion or about 10 drops in a swimming pool) impacts more than one-third of CVWD’s wells, and also many wells of other local water agencies. Our team is already working on plans to comply, but regardless of the approach this will likely be the costliest public works project the valley has ever seen.

If you’d like to learn more about this issue, please attend one of the upcoming workshops or visit us online at www.cvwd.org/cr6
